Polar to Rectangular Conversions
Enter your horizontal (x) and vertical (y) coordinates and convert them to polar quantities. Or vice versa, enter your polar quantities and convert them to rectangular quantities. This is a necessary technique in numerous protective relay calculations. (In fact this bundle of web pages uses this same math throughout.) The resultant magnitude (Polar Magnitude) = √((x*x) + (y*y)) and the resultant angle = ArcTan(y/x)
